Mos Generator Tales From The Vault is basically a collection of rehearsal room demos. These five songs, recorded on three different days, show the band stripped down and raw. Well known for their ellaborate and intriguing productions, Mos Generator return to live recording with minimal overdubs.
Recorded in a 9'x12' rehearsal room dubbed "Vault" because of it's double walls and 7" thick door. The band literally stands right next to each other when tracking songs. This is an adavantage considering the are demos and in most cases have been arranged only minutes before they were recorded.
Recorded in June of 2006 and released on 10" picture disc by Flotation Records in may 2007, The Tales From The Vault sessions hail five compositions that are still unique in the Mos Generator songography. Dyin' Blues, a Robert Johnson style lyric, was the only song already written when recording sessions were started. The remaining four songs Nightwolf, The Lantern, O'Cataaa and the Mahalia Jackson meets Zeppelin inspired In The Upper Room were each given one rehearsal to write and record. Which is the reason why these tracks sound so live and unabashed.

"If there's such a thing as fusing some soul into a doom palette, MOS GENERATOR has achieved that. Seldom will you hear an unambiguous merge between the two outside of BLACK SABBATH's "Sabotage". Mos Generator have tapped into a loud vibe featuring sinister and coarse nuances yet with something revealing far more heart". Ray Van Horn Jr.- Blabbermouth ... more
