COSMIC ARK (Altered States)*
Cosmic Ark had a working title of “Altered States”. The lyrics are influenced by the movie of the same name and are the last words I have written with a science fiction theme. The music went through many changes and was demoed at least 2 times before the version on this album. This version has 4 measures of music before the vocals start and it also has a synthesizer solo that doubles the guitar solo. It is also apparent that we did the song in 2 sections and spliced them together at the breakdown. This recording, like all of the demos from the “Nomads” album, were recorded live in the jamroom with overdubs done later in the studio.
